When it comes to directions, you had better not ask me for them. I'll tell you to take a left by that tree and when you come to the big rock you've made it. I still use my GPS to take me places I've been hundreds of times. Something that I have been taught in Sunday school and church since I can remember is the Bible is our road map. Our lives pulls us into different directions everyday, our people we depend on may not make it, but one thing is for sure, God’s word stands. In a world that’s turning circles around us, the Bible stands it’s ground. We go through life looking for the one thing that will give us the motivation we need, that one book that will help us solve our troubles and get us on the right track. Most of us have at least one copy of That Book in our homes. God not only said He would walk with us once we decided to follow Him, but He gave us His word too. And with serving a living Savior, we have His living word.

Psalm 119: 165 KJV says,

" Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them."

I've found that when I make an effort to read His word daily, little things that usually irritate me are nothing. It's like His word says, we will have peace. I feel a peace that goes with me and I'm slow to speak and slow to wrath. Our schedules are so busy that our Bibles usually go unopened until the next Sunday. Sundays are not made for you to fill up and hopefully make it to the next without going empty. We have His word that keeps us going, in telling us how to worship, how to live Christ-like, and how to bring honor to Him. When we have no idea what's going on, we have a word that is timeless. It applies in every aspect off our lives today as it did when it was first written. With something as amazing as this, we are crazy to not use it.

I'm ashamed to say I've never read it in its entirety, but I'm in the process of it. Making time for God's infallible word is a must for a Christian. The great evangelist Charles Spurgeon said,

“A Bible that’s falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t.”

Taking the extra time out of your day may be a struggle, but Jesus struggled an awful lot when He was sent to die on the cross for our sinful souls. It may be that getting up earlier is your time and that's a great time to spend before a hectic day, or at night when you can calm down and focus. Whichever, you will be rewarded greatly for staying close with Him and it will help you in following His road map.
